I hope everyone is doing well and acting appropriately (I've been hearing mixed reports which is not good!).
I am serving on a jury in a criminal case and am reminded over and over of the trial we read about in Monster. This experience is making me understand how realistic the book was, and how theatrical court proceedings can be.
The picture is one I took while waiting on line to be scanned into the court building. I had to wait almost an hour in the snow - it's amazing how busy a criminal court building is.
I am not sure when the trial will be finished, but I expect to be in school on Friday. You should have your Mandela project finished, as well as at least 10 of the handouts I left. You can also take the midterm LevelSet on Empower3000 and practice section G, v1-6 on ixl.com. Both programs send me reports so I know who is working and who isn't.
Jonathan...here is a revision of your poem...
Who Can It Be?
by Jonathan Santiago
It’s the middle of the night and there’s snow outside,
We are sipping hot cocoa snuggled under blankets by the fire,
We hear a jingle and a jangle and a big thump on the roof,
Who can it be?
We hide behind the tree
Waiting for Old St. Nick to appear.
We close are eyes tight,
Then open them wide,
To see jolly St. Nick before our eyes.
We smile and we cheer as the jolly one shouts,
“HO, HO, HO!” and in an instant
He is gone but under the tree
There are lots of presents,
And we all jump with glee.
