About meAfter more than 20 years of corporate, consulting and IT work experience, I became a NYC Teaching Fellow, launching a new career as a teacher of special education at Clara Barton High School in Brooklyn, NY.
I graduated cum laude from Marymount Manhattan College with a B.A. in Psychology, earned a Masters Degree in Education from Brooklyn College, and am currently engaged in post-graduate studies at The New School, Eugene Lang College, Institute for Urban Education’s Creative Pedagogies for School Change program. I am also an exhibition consultant, and an occasional designer of Web sites who published www.artmuseumjournal.com, an online publication devoted to the world of museums, art and art history. I am married to artist and writer Arthur Kirmss, and together we have developed a variety of exhibits and educational programs illustrating wide-ranging historical and arts-related subjects that include the Dutch House of Orange-Nassau, wampum making, colonial New York, early edged tools, gnomes, engraving as a fine and applied art, and the American Civil War. |
