Describe what you were like when you were 12 years old. How are you different today?
As the days become shorter and colder this time of year, some people start feeling the “winter blues.” What are some things we can do to feel better?
Sometimes it’s a good idea to text a message; other times an email or phone call is best. Describe 3 situations that show when (1) a text message is best; (2) an email is best; and (3) a phone call is best. Explain why.
My mother wanted to name me “Caroline,” but a famous person gave birth to a daughter a few days before I was born, and gave that name to her. My mother did not want people to think I was named after a celebrity so I was called Ellen, my grandmother’s name. I sometimes wonder if my life would have been different as a Caroline.
Tell the story of how you got your name. If you could invite any famous person to speak to students at Clara Barton, who would it be and why?
Do people perform better when competing (trying to get or win something others are also trying to get or win) or collaborating (working together with others)? Explain by giving examples. Does competition or collaboration work better for you? Why?
